The apartment is located in a building from the 1980s in the wider city center of Zagreb, on Ilica Street, and has an open view of a green park.

The central space of the apartment is very open and fluid, consisting of an open space that incorporates the entrance area, living area, dining area and kitchen. The existing floor plan was limited by the utility core in the center of the space, which was redefined in the new layout and transformed into a central "core" that serves the living area on one side and extends the kitchen on the other. The sides of this core are covered with mirrors, which enclose the "entrance hallway" zone at the entrance and reflect the view of the park on the opposite side, creating an extension of greenery within the interior of the apartment. The positioning of the core allowed for the placement of the stove and hood within its block, creating space for an open, low-lying kitchen on the opposite side. In order to establish a strong connection with the outdoors, and considering that the apartment doesn't have its own external space, a folding glass wall has been designed to completely open up the space.

The character of the space is defined by exposed concrete on the walls and ceiling, with its specific cracks, indentations, protrusions, and irregularities. The intention was to preserve the appearance and effect of such concrete, while articulating it in a manner characteristic of the space. Therefore, a solution was applied that combines the existing concrete with a clean, white surface in the upper zone of the walls and ceiling.

Regarding materials, the idea was to establish a balance between the raw and rough concrete, the industrial appearance of the existing space envelope, and natural, warm elements located within that envelope - a wooden kitchen and flooring, and a red central core.
